Our Home

Hi there, We wanted to share our house with you! Jas and I spend most of our time here as we both work from home so wanted a creative space that will inspire us and relax us, and I think we were quite successful in achieving this! Below are before and after pictures.   Family room Before For the living room we really liked the idea of black and white stripes, but not your normal evenly spaced stripes. As the walls are lovely and high we wanted to accentuate them... Read The Rest →

A blessed week with Guruji

This month we spent a wonderful week of music with Guruji – Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, in the beautiful town of Gifu in Japan. Our week of workshops were organised by one of Guruji’s senior disciples Setsuo Miyashita (aka Jimmy San) at the Grand Gifu hotel nestled by lush green hills and a watched over by Gifu Castle atop Mount Kinka with the Nagara River running below. Everyday Jas and I would start at 9am with breakfast in one of the many halls in the hotel, with Takahiro Arai,... Read The Rest →

Happy 90th birthday Big daddy!

10 days, 8 flights and cake! Harcharan Singh Ahluwalia is Jas’s amazing grandfather who turned 90 years old this year. His is a deeply spiritual man, wise and fun loving with stories to tell about his eventful life full of great highs, great lows and his many travels. His family decided the best way to celebrate this wonderful moment in his life was to take a trip to his place of birth – Makindu, Kenya, and take part in a 3 day Sikh prayer called an Akhand Path to pray... My Favorite Thing: LACMA Live Read

Guest Blogger: Kul Ahluwalia, Attorney By Day, Film Geek All The Time One of my absolute favorite things in the world (apart from my friends and family of course) is Jason Reitman’s Live Read Series at LACMA. Now in the future I plan on reviewing each of the upcoming Live Reads but I thought I would give a recap of what it is, why it’s so special, and mention a few of my favorite Live Reads. Essentially, Jason Reitman gathers a group of celebrated (and surprise) actors and actresses to... Read The Rest →

An article I wrote for Pulse magazine (UK)

It’s 23.30 on Monday 15th September and I have finally arrived in Mumbai, the 24 hour city of dreams. The last time I was here was in December 2002 when I was fortunate to become a disciple of Santoor Maestro, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma. Six years later and my first chance to come back, I have taken five weeks off from being the Performing Arts Manager of a South Asian Arts organisation called Manasamitra, to immerse myself in music and my mission, to come back home a little bit better... Tattoo Commission 2

These tattoos were made for a client called Gingger. She wanted the names of her mother and daughter written in Sanskrit, to sit on her wrist somewhere. This is a custom typeface that I created just for her. If you would like a custom tattoo get in touch and lets get started!

Tattoo commission

This month I had great fun designing a tattoo for a client called Kristine. My brief was pretty open, she wanted a mix of traditional Indian and tribal art that went somewhere on her hand…so this is what I came with. Which i’m glad to say she loved and it came out amazingly well! If you would like a custom design get in touch and i’ll see what I can do πŸ™‚

Even the rain couldn’t stop us!

Hi all, ! had a great time performing at the Fowler Museum last night. It was the perfect day for an outdoors performance, the sun was warm and bright with light warm winds. The evening was showcasing Ravi Deo’s compositions for dance and his own Tabla solo. The first half went well, with a group performance by students of UCLA of Gaayatri Kaundinya – Vocal, Shiva Ramamurthy – Violin, Kush Bhatt – Tabla and Aditya Ganesh on Mridangam. It was followed by Ravi’s great Tabla solo in the uncommon Jai... Read The Rest →
